Rosacea The true cause of rosacea remains elusive but we do know that it has 1) a vascular componet and 2) an acneiform componet. Successful treatment of rosacea is aimed at both problems. Rosacea is famously stubborn and difficult to treat, but with the newest laser technology it can be successfully controlled, improved and even eliminated. Laser treatment involves first targeting the visible vessels individually and then targeting the microscopic vasculature generally. Sealing microscopic vessels helps eliminate the general ruddiness and flushing problems of rosacea. Treatments take anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes. Usually a series of treatments of two or more (depending on the severity of the rosacea) provides the greatest degree of improvement. There is no down time after treatments and it is usually pain free. Rosacea Article [Adobe pdf]
